21st Century Community Learning Centers (STEAM) Grant
The Lawrence County School district will be applying for a grant that will provide students at Rod Paige Middle School with science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics learning opportunities. Beginning school year 2018-2019, RPMS became a Targeted Support and Improvement School due to the students with disabilities subgroup. Another subgroup that has increased at RPMS is the English Language (EL) Learner subgroup. This grant would greatly benefit these two subgroups of students as well. The grant's after school program will complement the regular academic activities provided during normal school hours. The goals of the program will be to provide tutorial services for reading, mathematics, and science, offer youth development activities, and encourage parental engagement.
